Quick Test

The site is up, and it is ready to go. Until it goes live, I am “practice-posting”or something like that.

So here it is: the first manual post on my very own web site. I’ve finally bitten the bullet to install a “blog” system and build a site around it. Of course, in typical Joel fashion, the system was installed a week or two ago and I haven’t really gotten around to doing anything with it just as of yet. I suppose I could use WordPress’s ability to manually edit the time stamp of posts to bump that “Hello world!” post back a few days and look a whole lot less lazy…but that’s not my style.

Anyway, while this site isn’t going to be public for a few weeks or more, I figured I might as well treat it like it is live already and get used to making regular posts right from the get-go. That and I’d be really embarrassed to launch this sucker, get all sorts of people to come to the site, and then have nothing to see. But, again, that would be typical “Joel behavior.”

Oh, and for what it is worth, yes I took this post’s headline photo and no I didn’t retouch the colors in Photoshop. The berries were that red, the tree that green, and the sky that blue (back in August of course. February in Minnesota looks nothing like that photo). Have I mentioned lately how much I love my camera? Canon rocks.

There you have it. WordPress is installed. It works great. Now I just have to figure out how to a) use it and b) customize it. No sweat. Right? That’s what they claim…

P.S. Happy Birthday, Brother!
